Ken did things here that I never did. Well, I never did them here. When we met in 1990, I had a house in St Paul and I mowed my small level lawn with a push reel mower. I used to joke it took anywhere from a half an hour to three hours – depending on how many of the neighbors stopped to chat.
But here Ken mowed. First with a sickle mower attached to his BCS tiller. And later with a large attachment on his Massey Ferguson tractor. And he had a large walk behind brush mower. All these are larger than I am comfortable using without practice!
So I hired a neighbor who has a service for mowing, plowing, etc. I asked for a basic cut to keep the brush from growing up – no weed whip, no golf course. He did a great job. But it was hard, and I will figure out how I want to do it – what machines here – if any – will work for me or if I have to buy something. It takes time.
